Welcome to a small piece of Gainesville, FL's commitment to Google Fiber for Communities. Prior to the application deadline, this site was devoted to tracking applicant cities via tracking pages like this. Since the deadline for applications, Google has been hard at work reviewing applicants and launching the next phase of their Fiber for Communities initiative at www.fiberforcommunities.com. That site provides various fiber-related resources, including some interesting videos that we've embedded below. Even more interesting, though is their "Take Action Now" button, providing tools to improve broadband in your community -- such as an "Email Your Representative" engine to help amplify your call for better connectivity.
For now, enjoy these videos, go take some action, and check back often -- we'll keep you posted as we learn more!
